Starting Mondays in April, we’re excited to offer a 4-week session for our tiniest explorers! This enchanting class is designed for babies 4 months up to 17 months old. Each 45-minute class provides sensory-rich experiences, gentle explorations, and meaningful connections with nature.

We are also thrilled to welcome our newest teacher Allie to Wild Wonders! Allie has a background in early childhood and elementary education. She spent six years teaching 2nd grade before focusing on her two little boys, Theo (3) and Henry (8 mo).

Growing up in Colorado, Allie developed a deep love for nature through hiking, bouldering, and skiing. She’s passionate about creating developmentally appropriate, nature-inspired learning experiences for little ones.

Mud kitchens aren’t just fun; they help kids develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills through hands-on, imaginative play. Whether they were ‘baking’ in the kitchen or sharing Valentine’s, these little ones were strengthening friendships in the best way possible—through nature play!

Hello all 👋🏼 I wanted to (re)introduce myself since we have a lot more of you joining us in this little special corner of nature.

I’m Nicole, a former elementary school teacher who spent nearly a decade in the classroom. After leaving to stay home with my second son, Luke, I found myself missing the joy of working with children—but I knew I didn’t want to return to a traditional classroom.

That’s when inspiration struck. I thought back to the ways my oldest, Noah, explored the world when he was little— playing in the dirt, watching bugs, splashing in puddles—and realized that this was the kind of learning I wanted to nurture. So, I shared my idea with a local moms’ group, hoping a few families would join me in creating a space for children to connect with nature.

That first season, in Fall 2024, I welcomed 24 little explorers… which quickly grew to a waitlist! This winter we now have over 40 adventurous hearts learning and growing together in the greatest classroom there is, outdoors.

I’m excited to keep growing Wild Wonders into a full nature school, with the dream of one day moving to a farm—creating an immersive, hands-on experience where children can explore both nature and farm life.

So whether you’re a founding member or new to Wild Wonders, I’m so grateful to have you here. Wild Wonders is not just a program—it’s a community, a dream, and an absolute blessing.

We kicked off our season by helping our squirrel friends free their acorns from the freeze! 🧊 Using mallets, a little science magic with salt, and warm water, we discovered the best way to melt out those frozen treasures. 💡✨

Hands-on problem solving, teamwork, and a touch of wonder made this adventure the perfect start to winter! ❄️

Exploring with our senses is a key part of early childhood development. It helps children make sense of the world around them, strengthens their cognitive abilities, and enhances their creativity. Engaging in sensory play like we did this week also supports language development, motor skills, and emotional regulation. By exploring sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures, children build connections between their environment and their understanding, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Imagination plays such a vital role in child development—it helps kids problem-solve, express themselves, and see endless possibilities in the world around them.
